Fetishism
In anthropology, the term "fetishism" means the worship of objects that believers believe have supernatural, magical powers.
In BDSM and in the sexual aspect, "fetishism" (also called "sexual fetishism" or "erotic fetishism") means compulsive sexual fixation on an inanimate object (object, matter, item of clothing, part of the body), known as a "fetish", which is able to cause sexual arousal and a sexually charged reaction in the affected person (called “fetishist”) on its own (in the absence of a partner).
Not every attraction to an inanimate object, fabric, or part of the human body can be considered sexual or erotic fetishism, but only that which is provoked by an object whose presence or use in the fetishistic act is sufficient to achieve sexual satisfaction.
